okay, so here comes the super super duper long post on atc (:
but let us take a minute of silence first to lament my poor lost dead phone lying somewhere i-dont-know-where ):
terminated the sim card, probably gonna get a new phone tonight/tmr night o:

at least i saved most of my contacts... but that was quite long ago o.o
maybe will mail those whose contacts i dont have or smth D:
sighzxs hope i also can get my unlimited sms plan back or smth D:
w/o my phone i feel so lost can.

hmmm. so many things to talk abt which should i start on first o:
i shall go chronologically then~
camp prep.
actually din really watch over much of their camp prep cos had other stuff to do.
but i rmbed on the last day only a few sec2s were doing there and i saw none of the sec1s at all :/
maybe p6 din bond enough through camp prep or smth.
cos last year i have a feeling p2 question mark bonded like siao during camp prep :D
somemore this year 3h of my bday with p6 o:

first day :/
i rmb we sec3s were all super nervous and praying hard for it not to rain o:
of cos we din want the rain to screw the schedule up.
imagine heavy downpour on the first day then they GG alr. actually we also GG if it did ._.
hen it drizzled and we were even more nervous o.o
but super heng it was exactly like last year, drizzle then stop and nice weather for the 1st day :)
tried to sleep in the bus but being extra kiasu cant sleep then keep worrying lol. just like last ear o:
i rmb we were cramming in last-min notes while on the bus haha, trekking notes and whatnot... then after reading we zham in sleeping bag :P
first day was somehow disappointing, camp d was really slack at first.
being the first thing in ATC i did expect them to be in the uncampish mood but not so... stone o.o
treasure hunt was super slack somehow too.
night games was uber disappointing being the last.
i was counsellor for p5 and i din manage to kup anything but p6 kupped 3 whole things even fter reminding them countless times to zhaogu dongxi...
at night had COH and ended up sleeping only 3hours @.@
second day was better though it was hionger.
being morning PT IC was a new experience o:
early in the morning the first activity glad it wasnt slack.
had shengqi in the morning, honestly it was equally disappointing when we saw all their marching and ppl carrying water bottle while marching.
arms straight out, 90 degrees. must be super firm and when not tongshoutongjiao.
when marching on the spot, hands by your side, firm and not to move.
what's so hard about that?
inspection next,
just so to emphasise again, every patrol is supposed to have at least 3 watches.
outdoor cooking next, din see them in action cos went to tie minesweeper
told claire about something she had always wanted to know (lol)
came back had super nice food to eat yay
our patrol won first in OC! :D
next was OJ,
switched with weimin to become station master with claire and weimin became cns for p2 o:

ours was the minesweeper cum firelighting station, 10min of dinging boys style/minesweeper first, at the same time those dinging came out to answer questions.
could tell who studied notes and who didn't.
it's really very obvious, actually
and i was SUPER SHOCKED when some patrols the sec 1s and 2s din even know more than 1 PL of the 41st batch. one of them said "yizhen", most of them only knew their own PL, and only one person knew all confidently (from our patrol!)
most of the stuff that i asked was actually common sense, like asthma etc
patrols ranged from 3 bonus marks to 9 o.o''
then next was 7min to light fire,
some patrols apparently used their firelighting stuff in OC and forgot to put back so matchstick, yuanzila/lu, newspaper all never bring... sigh
campfire was super un-high also,
sighzz shall not talk about it.
bbq next which after that i never saw my phone again ):

after that as we were about to have coh I GOT STUNG BY A BEE.
it was like,
i was sitting there waiting for something-i cant rmb what- then from the corner of my eye i saw a bug/felt something on my shoulder and i brushed it off
and suddenly my finger was pain like crap and my natural instinct was to stand up and go to nic (the first aider) then suddenly i couldnt stand it and just cried like mad lol.
was squeezing my finger till it was all red while crying from the pain
what happened next was all a blur,
i rmb sitting down and hearing someone say "she's been stung by an insect"
"don't crowd around"
"crystabelle are you okay"
and alot of other stuff
all the while my finger was pain like !#$%^#!#(&%@ like a needle with microscopic thorns stabbing repeatedly and drilling in at the same time (sorry for the gory description)
later i heard sherly telling someone that the stinger was so tiny she couldnt see it at all
and i was super scared they would take a needle and dig in to try and find the (non-existant) stinger. maybe my blog name isnt relevant after all ._.
kept crying and crying in weimin's shoulder and din wanna see my finger lol.
but anyway i was and am super gandong by all the ppl who cared for me and tried to distract me while i was there crying myself out :)
i remembered xt saying "BIG BEE HAS MISSED YOU SO MUCH IT'S COME BACK TO HAUNT YOU" and mich's "IM SO SORRY BUT THINK OF X NOW" or smth. X being something topsecret that most 41st batch ppl know LOL. dunno whether that still counts as top secret then.

slept at 2am in the morning and woke up at 4am, aka only 2hours of sleep.
but i know that other seniors had even less sleep than us
and finally 3rd day~
first thing in the morning was NE,
cherisse and i stood near the tuanqi, hopeful while XT blew the whistle 5 times
surprisingly even after hearing lots of whispers from the juniors that they thought night evac was coming they din react as fast as we thought they would ):
morning pt next, circuits + barang PT.
then mystery games was pushed forward o.o
we were all super freaked out but confident of getting through it together as a jie4 (:
and we did.
mass changing together in the toilet within 5min, some of us getting out within 2 half min,
everyone was like on this adrenaline rush thanks to high morale and togetherness :D
it felt really good to know that everyone was doing it together and no one wanted to lag our jie4 down so we changed as fast as we could.
and we did it in the timing allocated yay :D
I LOVE 41ST BATCH.
4min to change back to atc shirt,
we were even more nervous but ready for the challenge.
and we did it again, as a jie4.
you've probably no idea how happy i was to pia as a jie4 ^^
this kind of bondedness and togetherness and morale was one of a kind, probably something you'll only find in guides.
you may not be able to learn some musical skill in guides,
you may not be able to know how to paint or draw,
you may not be able to play ball games properly,
but heck,
guides gives you more than that.
but that's only if you're willing to open up and embrace it all.
& however cliche this may sound i love guides more than words can say (:

next was strike tents and finally we boarded the buses back to dhs (:
tired and stinky and sticky and itching and sunburnt but atc was over,
went back to LT4 for briefing and tabulated the scores personally with wenxin and weimin o:
p6 got 6th place and p3 got 1st.

if any of yall are reading this post now, don't be too upset by the placings.
just try your best for future jihes and be more enthusiastic, put in your 101% (:
we will notice it if yall do.
anyway some general comments for all trainees as assistant camp commander:
sec 1s:1) next year yall are gonna be seniors so start to act like seniors, quit playing around and brush up your skills (especially pumping properly)
2) listen to your seniors
3) have more initiative! help your seniors and don't let them solo all the work.
sec2s:1) start to open up, speak up and lead if yall haven't
2) 6 more months till PLTC, clarify any doubts yall have if not yall will enter PLTC unprepared and leave with regret
3) care for the whole tuan and not just yourselves. even though yall are a very big batch don't leave anyone out and try to involve everyone
4) work together and try not to have internal conflicts
also guides 不是跑，就是飞.
it's almost like the unofficial motto for guides, so a sense of urgency is of top priority (:
jiayou and keep the flame and love for guides going!
